    Friday is said to be a lucky day. Long ago when people used to let out the cows the first night after the winter it is on a Friday it was done.
    If oats are not set before the 4th of May it is called cuckoo oats.
    Potatoes should be set before the end of March.
    Mangolds should be set before the 12th of May.
    Turnips should be set before the 24th of June.
    Hay should be cut before the middle of July.
    Potatoes should be dug before the 1st of November.
    Mangolds should be pulled before the end of November.
