  1. A man named a Simon Doherty who used to live in Rathmelton told this story about his dog.
This dog was in Irish terrier, and was very intelligent. It was a good fighter, and it fought with every dog it met and was able to beat them all.
Simon liked it so much that when it died he got a waistcoat made from the skin. When Simon had the waistcoat on and met another dog the hair on the waistcoat would rise as if it was going to fight.
