    Very often the sum of money which the tenant was asked to pay was so much that they were not able to pay it. In this case they were then evicted.
    In nearly every case the tenants were punished for trivial things.

  2. Long ago, about thirty years ago, this school was divided into two apartments, Ramelton Male National School and Ramelton Female National School. These were united in 1909.
    The two rooms are connected by stone stairs. The two rooms are well lighted with five windows each. It was built in the year 1836.
