  1. This poem was composed by Bob Cheatley who lives about three miles from the town of Ramelton in the year 1935.
    Proudly stands this little Temple
    At the foot of Johnny's Brae.
    Near it Milford lies, like Sodom,
    Reckless of the Judgement Day.
    Fain would I approach its altar,
    But my erring feet refuse.
    Far too narrow are its portals
    For the children of the muse.
    No. I must not, dare not enter,
    No admission for me here;
    Not within this sacred sanctum
    Must a wicked bard appear.
    Only through an open window
    May I view the solemn scene.
    Dreaming dreams of dark perdition
    And the heaven that might have been
