At the foot of Johnny's Brae.
Near it Milford lies, like Sodom,
Reckless of the Judgement Day.Fain would I approach its altar,
But my erring feet refuse.
Far too narrow are its portals
For the children of the muse.No. I must not, dare not enter,
No admission for me here;
Not within this sacred sanctum
Must a wicked bard appear. Only through an open window
May I view the solemn scene.
