My townland is Drumfad in the parish of Raphoe.
There are only two families in Drumfad, our own and Logan's there are about ten people in Drumfad.
Long ago there were seven families in Drumfad, but the houses have disappeared and the families died out or went away. Drumfad means the long ridge, and there is a long hill running through the townland.
The houses are all thatched. A long time ago there used to be an old road up to Raphoe, which came up our lane and went through our street up to Logan's. The old lane can be seen up at Logan's yet. But Mt Logan got a lane made for himself, now his lane comes down past the school.
The land is good and crops grow well at Drumfad.
