  1. The Twilight was going to Derry with a load of timber. When near Malin Head a fierce storm arose and she was driven ashore, she bogged in a sand bank below Knockamaney Bens. The crew were all saved. The timber was taken to Derry by small steamers. The remains of the Twilight can be seen when the tide is out with a low water.
    The Cambria was a passenger ship coming from America with one hundred and seventy nine passengers and board. When near Malin Head she struck a rock and she immediately sank. one hundred and seventy eight passengers were lost
