    One afternoon a minister was taking a stroll down a road. On his way he met a boy with an ass and a heavily laden cart and the boy was beating the ass unmercifully. "Why do you torture the ass", asked the minister. "The ass is my own", said the boy, "and I can do what I like with him". Then the minister got angry and hit the boy on the shoulder with his walking stick. "Why do you hit me", said the boy. "The stick is my own", said the minister, "and I can do what I like with it".
