    IF a sod fell off the fire at night it is a sign that there is a stranger coming. If it is a black sod it is a dark haired stranger. If it is a lighting sod it is a fair haired stranger.
    Whoever takes the last bit of butter off the plate will die first.
    If a donkey cries a tinker is dead.
    What ever side from which you hear the cuckoo first you will be going in that direction during the year.
    If you meet a red haired woman when going on a journey you will have bad luck in that journey.
    When a dog cries someone is going to die.
    If you spill salt it is unlucky.
