  2. The local fairs are held in Killimor, Tynagh, Loughrea and Portumna. Long ago fairs were held at Cornmarket which is about a half a mile from Killimor on the Loughrea road. The fairs are held in villages and greens nowadays. Twice a year there is a fair held in Killimor green and everybody that buys sheep or cattle has to pay a toll of twopence on every beast and a penny on every sheep.
