- Candle making: There were candles made in this parish long ago in the townsland of Castlenancy by Mr Sullivan in the year 1880. The candles were made from tallow and rushes. He had shapes made of pewter like the candles nowadays, and with those he used shape the candles.Basket making: There baskets made in this district long ago by James Canning in the townsland of Barrera in the year 1887.
