    in the Dartry district and these have dropped the Mac and write their name "Clancy" only. One of the old descendants lives in the townland of Buckode Kinlaugh a few in Gortnasellaugh Kinlaugh and one on the opposite shore of Laugh Melvin in the townland of Laureen Kinlaugh but this man's father came to Laureen from Dartry.
    There is a common belief still in Dartry that when one of this Clancy sept dies a piece of rock falls from the Blue Rock of Dartry mountain a peak overhanging or watching over McClancy's famous castle.
