  1. Once upon a time there lived a girl in Killavoggy named Mary Flynn. One day she was sent on a message to her neighbour's house and she did not come back until sunset, She went to bed that night and in the morning she was sick and every day she was getting worse and she was also getting very small. IN the end she was smaller than an infant. She became very cross. Everyone that came to see her she told them to go home and mind there cattle and children and as sure as they would go home the children or cattle would be sick. One day her sister went to the shop and she met Anne OBrien and Anne told her to go home and pull fairy fingers and if she drinks the juice of them she is your sister and if she does not she is a fairy.
    So that day when the girl went home she brought in the fairy fingers to boil and as soon as she did the sick sick girl began to shout and said to her sister it was Anne OBrien told you that and I will not drink it, "Let
