  1. When a bargain is made the parties concerned clap each others hands. When an animal is sold it is marked by clipping hair off its side. There are no local horse fairs except one fair that is held in Carraig-na-Gat in county Sligo on the 2nd February. When an animal is sold the halter is given with it for good luck.
