  1. St. Senan was building a road from from Scattery to the Kerry mainland. Some foreigners made an attack on the island to kill the saint and his followers. As they were coming along the road St. Senan wished the waters to come over the road and to drawn the invaders before they could reach Scattery. Immediately the waters rose and all the foreigners were drowned, and a town that was near Scattery was also covered with water.
