  1. Of all our Irish birds the most common ones are crows, wagtails, jackdaws, linnets, thrushes, blackbirds, swallows, robin redbreasts, cuckoos, wrens, chaffinches, goldfinches and corncrakes. There are several others too numerous to mention. In September the swallows, cuckoos, and corncrakes all go to foreign countries.
