- 1 Ghosts are to be seen at times in every place around Lackenasleva which is my own townland. there are many old sayings about the ghosts of Lackenasleva. One night a man was coming home from a dance; it was bout one o'clock and when he was passing Miss Kilcullen's Post Office he saw some black person standing outside the door. He went on a few yards, and after a while, he looked back and saw it following him. He walked fast and it kept after him until he came as far as "Cowel's Hill." And it disappeared all in a sudden. Every place there is an evil spirit. "The day is for the living and the night is for the dead."
