    Ye feeling hearted Christians,
    I hope you will draw near
    And listen to those mournful lines
    I am going to let you hear
    Concerning nine fine fisherman
    Whose loss we all deplore
    Who sank beneath the wave in Lacken Bay
    We will never see them more

    On the 28th of October the evening it was fine
    They left their homes in Lacken
    For to fish upon the Brine
    To fish upon the Brinie sea
    Those men so tried and brave
    And its little was their notion
    They'd be slumbering in the wave
