  1. Another time Sam was going to town (Tralee). Behind Laides house in Ballydwyer was a woman sitting on a donkey's car. Her husband was in arrears in rent and she had a new shawl. When she saw the coach behind her, she put on an old shawl she had across her knees and just dropped the new shawl inside the ditch. She thought that Sam would not notice her. Alas he did. He ordered his coachman to get our and hand her the shawl saying "you left your shawl inside the ditch Man". The woman
