  1. There is a large rock situated in a field belonging to Mrs. OConnor of Clogher. It can be seen on the left hand side of the road by anyone going from Clogher Cross to Castleisland. There are many legends told in connection with this group of rocks; the chief one being that relating to the fairies gate.
    It is hardly proper to call the cutting in the rock a gate for it has merely the shape of the frame of a door. This gate is supposed to connect with an underground passage leading to
