  1. Local Cures
    Toothache.
    To fill the tooth with tobacco. To heat flour and put it into a cloth and tie it around your head.
    Sore eyes.
    To wash them with cold tea. To rub a gold ring to them.
    There are holy wells; the water of them are supposed to cure sore eyes. Weathers' well, and Ballavourna well.
    Wooping cough.
    To give milk to a ferret and what he would leave after him there is a cure in it for whooping cough. There is a cure in a ganders' breath for whooping cough also.
    Boils.
    Slánslaw. Sloap and sugar.
    Poultices.
    A poultice is made out of a roasted potatoe. A loaf of bread when the barn is taken out of it. Linseed meal.
