    dressed in green and white and Cork men were dressed in blue and white. The type of ball played was leather with a tube inside. When one side would play foul, the other side would get a free kick from where the foul was committed in the field. There were two large poles erected apart for the goals, and two shorter poles for the points. There was very little hurling done in this district in former times.
    Another football match was held in Mr. Fleming's field of Tureencahill. The Kerry and Cork teams played there, and Kerry won
