  2. 1. When the wind is in the east it is neither good for man or beast,
    When the wind is in the west its then its at its best.
    2. When the clouds gather together it is a sure sign of rain.
    3. When the stars are twinkling it is a sign of frost.
    4. Swallows flying low are a sure sign of rain while fine weather comes when they fly high.
    5. The west, the south and the south-east winds bring most rain with them.
