  1. There is a family (now scattered) who lived in Ballyvourney West Cork surnamed Kavanagh who really believe in the Banshee. Every time a member of this family dies the lonely cry attributed to the Banshee is heard. One member of the family now married in the town of Bandon heard it, she did not know at the time that any of her relatives had died, but became a little uneasy, as the believed in the Banshee. The following day she got word that her father was dead. This was related by one of her daughters who also believes in the Banshee.
