- The following story was told by an old woman the name of Larkin from a place called Tillyra in Galway. This woman was a widow early in life and was evicted from her home after her husband's death. She happened to come to my grand-parrents when their children were small. They liked her very much and treated her as one of themselves. She lived there until she died and lived a long life. The following story happened in the village in Galway. There was a marriage and the young people became very popular. There were a few country weddings with fiddlers and (bag) pipers and straw boys or "gameries" as they were called. They gave a great night to friends(continues on next page)
