    One day she was walking with a lady in waiting through a dense wood, close to the palace when she met a poor old woman who was nearly bent with age.
    She was dressed in torn rags and she was bare-footed. She stopped them and asked a charity for God’s sake. The naughty princess burst into a peal of laughter, and told the poor (princess) beggar to go away quickly. She said she was so ugly, that if she had a tail anyone would think she was a monkey. As the princess spoke she took out a lovely cake and began to eat it. The
