    The weather.
In almost every district in Ireland we find people, who, by observation can judge the kind of weather we are going to have
In the summer months in this district the north wind brings cold dry weather whereas the south wind brings heat and rain
In the winter months the north wind brings frost and snow whereas the south wind may bring a heavy snow-storm, but it also brings heat to melt the snow
Good or bad weather coming in with new or full moon is expected to last a week. There is always a change expected the neap tides
When smoke out of the chimney goes up straight it is believed to be a sign of good weather. If there is a ring round the moon is is a sign of a storm.
The twinkling of stars in winter is a sign of frost, or if the light across the sky known as the "milky way" runs from north to south it is regarded as a sign of good weather, but if it runs from east to west
