    shamrocks and brooches. It used to be an old custom long ago drowning the shamrock but they do not drown it now. Every public house in the town is now closed on St Patrick's day. Some people do not wear shamrock on that day because the forget to put one in their coats or hats. It is very seldom you see any person without a shamrock on that day. People that have friends in foreign countries send shamrocks to them to wear on that day. Shamrocks do no grow in foreign countries. They only grow in Ireland.

  2. When the "wren boys" are going out mumming they tie a bladder to a long stick. Before Saint Stephen's day they kill a wren, and they get their suits ready. The next morning five or six of them meet at some house. They all dress at that house, and they bring mouth organs
