- The townland of Shountellig is in the Parish of Schull and in the barony of West Carbery. It falls into two divisions being Shountellig South and Shountellig North which are divided by Shountellig Hill. There are sixty people in Shountellig, twenty one in South Shountellig and the remainder in North ShountelligPeople
