- It is said that long ago, a giant Fionn Mac Cumail came to this district and proofs of his coming can be given. It is said that it was this giant who threw the stone in Rathravane. A similar stone is to be seen in the south west of Glaun, which is said to have been thrown by Fionn from Mount Gabriel, and on this are Fionn's finger prints. From Mount Gabriel he threw another large stone southwards and it fell in the ocean. This rock is now known as the "Fastnet Rock."
In Gouláns are many large stones called "Fionn's finger stones" and it is said that they were thrown there by Fionn form Mount Gabriel. It is from these stones the(continues on next page)- Collector
