    Then he two comrades carried him down and buried him by the side of the lake called Locheornan.
    Every night after this there used to be a black dog seen below, standing on the grave of the man. There is a big stone under which the man was buried and it is called the "Black Stone".
    Some time after this man being killed there was a Black Gate opposite his grave. It was about a quarter of a mile away from the grave.
    One night there were two men coming home from a wake. As they were passing the Black Gate they saw what they thought was a spirit, and they were afraid to pass. They stayed a long time on the road, but at last one of them said he would pass, so the two of them passed. What did they see, but a woman gathering sticks for the morning. They said "Why did you come out here to frighten us". She said she did not come out to frighten them, she only wanted a few sticks to light the fire in the morning.
    The men were so frightened that they got weak. Then the woman took them into here house. She gave them some whiskey. They sat down around the fire. As they were talking they heard some noise in the chimney
