    weather. If a hen drinks water it is a sign of a fine day. If it is raining when you get up, and a cock comes to the door crowing, the day will get fine. It is said that this is a very sure sign. If the morning is wet, and you hear the larks singing, it is a sign that the day will clear. If they do not go high , the day will remain wet. If the frogs are a copper colour there will be fine weather. If they are black it will be wet. If a frog comes in around the house it is a sign of wet weather. A fog rising in marshy land or on water, in the evening, is a sign of fine weather. A fog coming down the mountain is the sign of a wet day, if it goes back again, the day will clear. Smoke going straight up out of a chimney is a sign of fine weather. If the smoke is not inclined to go up the chimney, it is a sign of frosty weather. A sky-goat at night, is a sign that it will rain soon. Swallows flying low is a sign of rain.
