- In the year 1902 there was a great storm. A great deal of damage was done by this great wind.
It began in the evening and got worse as the night went on. People could not go to bed all night, the wind was so strong. Many roofs were blown off houses. In the morning people's ricks of hay and straw were gone. Sheds were unroofed, and the roofs blown for miles along the roads. Gates were blown off their hinges.
