  1. There is a pig-fair held in Ballymahon on the second Friday of every month. From early morning the people come into the town with cart-loads of pigs and they line up on each side of the street. The dealers start to buy the pigs from the farmers at eight o'clock. The bargaining is continued until all the pigs are brought in, they are then loaded into lorries for their various destinations.
    On the second Monday of every month there is a cattle-fair held in Ballymahon. Sometimes the buyers and sellers come into the town the evening
