- On the Penal Days there was a monk in Fore and he threw a stone accross a hill. There were three men building a castle on a shaking scraw, and they were trying to put up a big stone over a door. They were not able to put it up. The monk told them to go home for their dinner. They went home and when they came back he had the stone up.He pointed a stick at a rock and up sprang a well, the water of which could not be boiled. This monk fell off his horse and a blacksmith, named Muldoon, bandaged him up. The monk told him that while there would be a Muldoon in Fore there would be a bonesitter. The only member of his family now living has still the cure.
