- One time long ago, a man was coming home from a fair in Baileboro at night and he had a dozen of hens with him in a bag.
He was passing a bog when a dozen of wild animals appeared to him and they were black all over.
The man threw down his bag and ran after them but they did not run away from him and they seemed to have disappeared in the ground. when he came back to his bag, the hens were gone, so he lifted the bag and ran home and the animals ran after him again. Old people say that they were dogs that belong to an old soldier that lived on that road and died years ago.
People say that they were ghostly animals, they also say that he was a bad man and a miser.- Collector
