- (continued from previous page)out, it began to drift with tide. The men at oars just kept boat in line with net.
As the net drifted, after a time it would begin to drift towards boat. When it would have come too close, they would haul it in. It might or might not contain fish. if it did, when fish was reached, the bad-line was thrown over it. In this way, whether meshed or not the fish could not escape. When the whole net had been brought into to boat, it was paid out again in same way.
