    Áit -Ainmneacha
    The best I can do here is give the names of townlands and of a few outstanding place name.
    Meelick -name of district in general..Nobody here has the least idea of meaning (origin) but Joyce has said it means "marshy land"and certainly the lie of the land warrants such an interpretation.The Shannon ,before being banked in came right up to the Church.All the reclaimed land is corcoss and used largely for hay.
    Townlands:-Meelick proper is divided into Meelick an Lower Meelick and comprises most of the low lying land.
    Coonagh,called by older inhabitants Coonach must be Cuanach as there
