  1. The study of the Irish language is more fascinating when studied with the object in view and learning more about our Irish Place Names. There is no town, village or district which has not received its name from some particular event that happened there. Perhaps some chieftain that died there, or some battle that was fought there.The Irish Place Names are an index to the imagination. We hear names referring to music such as Valladolid and Toledo, but our country teems with Irish names.
