  1. In the Penal days there was great disturbance in the country. The priests used say Mass out in the fields under hedges. They used to make an altar of a big stone and decorate it with flowers. One remarkable thing about it was during storm, rain, or hail the candles never quenched until Mass was over. There was an old house in our land to the west of the vilage where a priest used say Mass. There was a board in that old ruin until late and it is said that this was a piece of the table on which the priest used offer Mass. There was a price on every
