- There is a holy well in Ballyheane and it is situated in Mrs. Gavin's field about a hundred yards from the main road. One day when people were going into a public house they heard a cry where the well now is, and they were searching to see what would it be.
At last, they found a child lying on its back in the field and the well spung up there. This well was visited by St Patrick on his way to Cnough Patrick.(continues on next page)- Collector
