  1. We sow an acre and a half of potatoes every year. First we plough, harrow and drill the land. Then we bring in farmyard manure and scatter it on the drills. My father shakes fertilizer on them and two or three of us leave the slits. Then my brother closes the drills with the plough.
    In about three weeks we mould them, and when the stalks are three or four inches high they are moulded again. After some time they are sprayed three times - a barrel of spray going to each rood. Next they are dug. My
