  1. In olden times people used to attend Mass in hidden places. People sometimes stopped attending Mass because of some difference they had with the priests.
    Some people in my village were noted for their piety. They never turned away a beggar and led good and holy lives. In the Penal days they sheltered the poor priests and risked their lives. Other people were not so good and often ill-treated priests.
    Once a priest in my village had a quarrel with certain people. The children of the house had insulted him and he went to the house to complain. The woman took him short and as
