    went in there was a grand palace inside. There was a small man mending shoes inside the door with a hammer in his hand. The next thing John saw was his own red cow and the fairies minding her. John caught the cow's tail but the fairies hit him a blow of their sticks and the cow went wild through the palace. John kept a hold of cow's tail all the time and she broke everything that was in the palace. At last the fairies told him to go out or that they would change him into a fairy. When he was going out the door the little man that was mending the shoes told him not to go without
