In the days of the famine there were two men in Lettreen in Aughagower Parish. One was named Creary and the other was named Moran. They were very poor and often times they were without food for several days. They were the poorest in that village. There was a miniter in Knappa that time and he was very sick. he said to himself one day that he would employ the two men working for him as they were very very poor.
