    Potatoes 3-3-38

    Potatoes are grown in large amounts around this parish, .it is in drills that the potatoes are usually sown, but if the ground is new the potatoes are sown in ridges .First of all the drills are opened with the plough, and the seed potatoes spread.They are left under a small cover of clay for a week or two .Then the farmer spreads out the the farmyard manure over them ,and the manure is then covered with a plough.
