He said it was something that wasn't right when it wouldn't come out and act in front of him, a priest. He said he often heard of very cute and clever animals, and he always investigated and found out that they were not animals at all. So the priest went to the room where the dog was lying, and called him out. But all the reply he got was a growl.
Then he put his hat on the kitchen door and his stick in one of the windows and a prayer book in another window. He put some holy thing in every window so that the dog or whatever it was couldn't get out of the house for he wanted to find out what it really was. The priest then took out his prayer book and started to pray and he was praying for a long(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
