- Between 70 and 80 years ago a woman by the name of Mrs Gorman who lived at Bandon Road used to go to Mass in the Convent Chapel. People at that time used to go to bed very early, especially in the winter season and on waking early in the morning would watch the fading of the stars so as to judge of the approach of daybreak. Mrs Gorman rose one morning thinking the time was between six o'clock and seven o'clock and stood waiting outside the Convent Chapel expecting every minute to hear the door opening.
She was looking down in the direction of the town and saw the figure of a woman rising up above the roofs and mount towards the sky.
