The Duncan's taught in Kilbride school and after them Nanny Farrelly. Although Nanny Farrelly was a local she was very polite. the teachers in Kilbride school taught English reading, English writing, and Arithmetic. they taught no Irish. there were desks and blackboards in it. Kilbride school was not used since 1902.
The children used to have oaten bread for their lunch. They used to make ink out of the juice of elder berries. When they wanted pens they used to get a goose's feather and to put a sharp point on it. the names of those pens were(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
