Never any fair held in this district.Limerick was always place of sale.
About 70 years ago there was a local(Big John Frost of Foot Cottage, Meelick )who used to appoint certain days on which people wd.meet him with cattle for sale at Punchbowl Cross. He was a good buyer and gave a fair price.
There was a fair appointed for some place 90 or 100 yrs.ago but it was never held. It was to be known as the fair of Fíodhbach-the old name of a tract of land there.
