  1. There once lived in Carragolda on the side of the road two brothers.
    One of them got married to a girl that was after coming from America.
    The three of them lived happy for a long time until the girl died. In a few years the man that was married died and the other brother was left in the house by himself.
    He used to go to bed every night at about ten o'clock.
    At about two o'clock he used to be awakened by noises knocking at the doors. When the noises came he had to go out and
